“Where God Lives”

Tyler R. Martin

I’ve never felt God
In church
With a joyful singing
Crowd,
Or felt his touch through
Holy pious texts
Confidently thundered
By holy pious men.
In my opinion,
God exists only
In the puffs of smoke
From the dirty cigarettes
And the empty bottles
Of poor, aging
Drunks.
